Started Dogs and Puppies

Puppies:

AK Labradors has litters of puppies 3 to 5 times per year. Our goal with each litter is to improve the breed and its stock rather than to create more puppies. Simply, quality over quantity. Each breeding is given very careful forethought and consideration; closely examining both dog’s pedigree and lineage.

Our puppies are sought after and are sold on a first come first serve basis after we conduct an interview with you and determine that this will be a good match. Puppies are $3,500. A $500 non-refundable deposit is asked for at seven weeks to “hold” the puppy for you. All puppies are purchased with American Kennel Club (AKC) registration papers and with the contractual agreement found below. Additionally, all puppies come with a health certificate issued by our vet, Stephen Stang, DVM of Loudoun Veterinarian Services.

We have shifted from selling puppies to pet homes to primarily selling them to service organizations. Most litters are already spoken for by said organizations. That said, if you are interested in purchasing a puppy from AK Labradors or would like more information, please contact us.

AK Labrador puppies go to new owners at nine (9) weeks of age (with a Distemper/Parvo vaccine given at 6 weeks and a 5-way vaccine given at 8 weeks).

We ask that you familiarize yourself with the contract that all buyers are required to enter into with AK Labradors.

Started Dogs:

Occasionally, we have dogs between the ages of six months-two years for sale. For various reasons, we have determined that these dogs would make better companions and pets than show dogs. They have all been well-socialized and loved. These dogs typically have some, if not all, OFA clearances, have been registered with the AKC, and have potentially been shown.

The same purchase agreement for puppies is applicable and required for started dogs.
